# Technical due diligence for AI-built companies

More and more products are written largely by AI. Before you invest in or buy one, find out what you are really getting. Our technical due diligence looks under the hood, and an Expert signs the report.

## Why AI-built companies need a different look

Code written by AI can look clean and still hide problems: parts nobody understands, knowledge that lives only in a chat history, and security gaps that a quick review misses. Standard tech due diligence often checks the team and the stack, not whether the code holds up.

## What we look at

- How much of the product a person understands, and how much only the AI that wrote it can find its way around.
- Security: secrets in the code, who can reach customer data, and how payments and logins are built.
- Ownership: whether the company really owns and controls its code, and what depends on one tool or one person.
- Hidden costs: parts that will have to be rebuilt, and bills that grow with every new user.
- How the team uses AI: what rules they follow, and whether anyone senior checks the result.
- Whether the team can keep changing the product safely after you sign.

## How it works

1. Before the deal: a short red-flag review from documents, a demo and a talk with the founders, when the code is not yet available.
2. After a letter of intent: a full review of the code, the infrastructure and how the team works.
3. A readout to the deal team, and a signed report with what to price in, what to fix, and what to protect in the contract.

## What you get

A report in plain words for the deal team, with the technical detail for your advisers. It says what is sound, what is risky, and what it would take to fix. An Expert signs it and answers your questions on a call.

## Independent by rule

We never sign a due diligence report on code we have worked on ourselves. Only the Expert on the deal sees the code, we never feed it to outside AI tools without permission, and we delete everything when we are done.

## Questions

### Can you review a company before we see its code?

Yes. A red-flag review works from documents, a demo and interviews, and tells you what to ask in the full review.

### Who receives the report?

The party who commissions it, and anyone you name in writing. The report states its scope and what it relied on.

### Do you work with sellers too?

Yes. A company preparing to raise or sell can commission a review of its own code, to share with buyers under an NDA.

### Do you fix what you find?

Not on the same deal. To stay independent, we never sign a report on code we have changed. We can recommend how to fix it.
